Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. When I tried to get hold of Customer Support, every time I got a “something went wrong on our end, please try again later” window only. I finally quit trying at 5AM this morning and went to bed. When I woke up I tried one more time and still got the same result.

I then felt I had no choice but to buy the Office download as I’m under pressure time-wise for my work and I had to re-do yesterday’s efforts, too. Thanks for trying to help last night. Office has worked well for years. I tried to restore to former points and with each try that operation will not complete, so the problem remains. Due to some “update”, did Windows just wipe out my Office programs and my day’s work to make me to go buy a new program? Please help quickly- I have deadlines to meet!

Open Control Panel – Programs and Features Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications At the top, click ‘Change’ On the resulting dialog, click ‘Repair’ – choose the Quick Repair first, if that does not resolve this, try the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.

NOTE: Please be advised, if you are running Office or earlier, before attempting a repair, have your Microsoft Office Product Key at hand, Office may need to be re-activated in some cases.

In reply to DaveM’s post on August 17, I don’t see a “Control Panel” on my Windows 10 anywhere- how do I find it? If I hit “Change”, a new window opens asking if I want to “let this app make changes to your device”. If I click “yes”, I get a brief Office 10 window that lasts less than a second and says, “Please wait for setup to prepare the necessary files”- and then nothing happens after that.

Hi Chris, since you are running Office , do you have your installation media and product Key? No, I looked all over but couldn’t find it after all this time. Really not happy for getting blindsided like this. This site in other languages x.
